Monk Teaching
About Monk Teaching
Providing education to Monks is one of most sought after activities by volunteers from all over the world. Lot of children come to these institutions to get formal and spiritual education.
These institutions, despite their overall good economic conditions tend to focus more on the religious/spiritual education of the pupils and therefore leading to an acute need of quality formal education.
Therefore, the need of volunteers is very high in Monk education centres as they require help to teach English, Mathematics, Art & Craft and preparing teaching learning material. These monk-teaching centres normally have accommodation facility for their students and it means the volunteers can contribute for a greater period of time each day, if they so wished.

Location - Srilanka
Colombo is the largest city in Sri Lanka and is known as the financial and commercial capital of the country. Located on the west coast of the island,it is the official capital of Sri Lanka and the parliament capital of Sri Lanka.
Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and ancient historical colonial buildings and ruins that offers a variety of experiences. It has the laid-back charm of the historical era combined with the liveliness of a modern city. Colombo would be the best place in Sri Lanka to begin our program.
The wonderful land of Sri Lanka is filled with picturesque beauty due to its beautiful beaches and wildlife sanctuaries. Sri Lanka (officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka) is an island in southeast India. Plenty of tourists visit Sri Lanka for its stunning beaches, colonial architecture, Buddhist temples and destinations such as Kandy , Galle , Yala National Park and Colombo. There are also many famous wildlife sanctuaries with elephant and leopard populations in Sri Lanka.
Tourists can dive with blue whales during the season time or enjoy watching spinner dolphins leaping about in the marine sanctuary, Kalpitiya. Sri Lanka has around 5800 wild elephants and one of the largest populations of leopards in the world. Numerous elephants, leopards, buffaloes and sloth bears can be observed in Yala national park.
Sleepy Gale is the backpackers’ haven with its Dutch Colonial architecture, fascinating nightlife, ice cream parlours and jewellery shops. This is also the spot to witness an international cricket match or explore an ancient fort. Nilaveli and Uppuveli, near Trincomalee are stunning and secluded beaches in which the traveller can spend time in peace. In the south east of Sri Lanka, the Arugam Bay is a golden sand crescent and it offers the perfect location for parties on summer days and balmy nights!
