Monk Teaching

About Monk Teaching

Providing education to Monks is one of most sought after activities by volunteers from all over the world. Lot of children
come to these institutions to get formal and spiritual education.

These institutions, despite their overall good economic conditions tend to focus more on the religious/spiritual education of the pupils and therefore leading to an acute need of quality formal education. Therefore, the need of volunteers is very high in Monk education centres as they require help to teach English, Mathematics, Art & Craft and preparing teaching learning material. These monk-teaching centres normally have accommodation facility for their students and it means the volunteers can contribute for a greater period of time each day, if they so wished.

Location - Thailand

Chiang Mai is one of the few places in Thailand where it is possible to experience both historical and modern Thai culture coexisting side by side: the city features centuries-old pagodas and temples as well as modern convenience stores and boutique hotels. Chiang Mai literally means “new city” and has retained the name despite celebrating its 700th anniversary in 1996.

For many years, travellers have thought of Chiang Mai simply as the base from which they could plan trekking and rafting trips to hill tribe villages and also visits to other provinces. However, once there, they will be taken by surprise due to the fact that there are so many things to discover other than its beautiful and historic temples. Intriguing diversity among ethnic tribes, elephant camps, cooking and massage schools, outdoor activities, a variety of handicraft workshops, various cultural performances, and breathtaking sceneries make Chiang Mai one of Asia’s most attractive tourist destinations.

Thailand is every person’s dream destination as it is a land filled with serene beaches, busy city life, electrifying night life, Buddhist monasteries and temples as well as plenty of exciting activities. From students planning a vacation to families planning a chilling holiday, most people opt for Thailand as their travel destination. The spirit of this archipelago is so contagious and tempting that whoever reads or hears about it will want to visit it.

Apart from its dazzling nightlife and wonderful places of attraction, Thailand is also well known for its bizarre yet excellent street food varieties. Thailand, a lively city with livelier people is sure to give the tourist fun, adventure, companionship, rejuvenation and most significantly, fulfilment! Besides these, Thailand is also popular for club hopping and plenty of shopping.

Thailand, the ‘Land of Smiles’ is a paradise for shoppers as it has many kinds of weekend bazaars, fancy malls, floating bazaars and night markets selling a variety of Thai products. The products famous here include Thai sauces and spices, pottery and ceramics, Thai silk , Thai snacks and food, wickerwork, antiques and so on!
